WATER is 4 feet in front of the goal post sign on end of Island. . Norway DOWN  from our flow. When you see that it means the water will change either up or down based on Norways flow.

Fish on the bite are:

 THE CONSERVATION CLUB IS NOW CLOSED TO ALL MEMBERS AND THE PUBLIC DUE TO THE AREA BEING CHANGED TO A CONSTRUCTION ZONE

Grounds are now closed to members, the only people allowed on grounds are Nipsco personel, Club Board members and Shareholders. Final closing of all buildings will be done this week and all work should be done by week-end  01-16---02:54p.m.

 

        Very few people fishing Oakdale now and the river bank in Norway is full of fishermen. If that tells you something. Usually they will catch some walleye there before we start catching them here at Oakedale. 02-05---03:35p.m.

         Several fishing on the river today. 02-04---05:00p.m.

         Ground Hod Day, waterflows still going down. I have reports a numbers of Walleye, Crappie and Bluegills being caught below Norway Dam.  02-02---05:30p.m.

        Water flow continue to drop. One boat on river today. 02-01---05:00p.m.

       Water flows continue to drop. 01-29---04:58p.m.

        Water flows are gong down again.  01-28--04:10p.m.

       All the rain caused water to go up again. A couple of boats on river today. 01-27--03:50p.m.

       Water flows are up a little today. Rain in area most of the day. 01-26---04:07p.m.

       Water flows have went down some now. 01-24---04:10p.m.

       All the snow has melted and now the flood gate is open again.  01-23---12:05p.m.

       6" snow on ground in area. No one fishing. Come on Spring : - } 01-22---02:10p.m.

       4"of snow today  made for tuff moving today.  just had to be the coldest night and the coldest day with snow in honor of my move. Oh wello it is what it is.  01-20---06:23p.m.

      Around 3" of snow on ground today temps now at 11.  01-19---07:02p.m.

      No fishermen on the water today. Water has started to go back down again.  01-19---02:05a.m.

      The flood gate is open again and water flows have are triple what thet were this morning. There was one boat on the river and they were out there most of the day.  01-17---03:48p.m.

      Caught a couple White Bass and there were a few Crappie caught before the cold front moved in. 3 to 4" of snow on ground now and the cove has frozen over. Still light snow falling on gronds.  01-13  10:58a.m.

      Today was a very good day for me. What may be the last day to fish that the weather and the closing of grounds on the 15th of January will put an end to.

After the 15th The gate will be locked shut and the only people allowed on grounds will be Nipsco personel, Club Board Members and Shareholders.

All final work will be done during the next week to secure all buildings.

      I caught 25 White Bass, 1 Yellow Bass, and 6 Crappie. Fish were very close to the shore and all caught on hair jigs under a bobber. 01-11---07:58p.m.

Lures / Baits used:

Channel Catfish: shad minnows and cut bait and night crawlers

Wipers:    Night crawler and Jigs

Fresh Water Drum ( white perch ):  on night crawlers.

Walleye, Sauger, and Saugeye:    Mostly minnows, nightcrawlers now and a few on jigs.

Bluegill:    Several caught on bee moths and minnows.

White Bass:     A few on hair jigs and minnows.

Crappie:     Most on minnows and several hair jigs and Bee moths

Flathead Catfish:      No reports.

Buffalo and Carp:     A few on jigs.

Black Bass & Smallmouth Bass:      Smallmouth on minnows.

Hot Colors:
Chartuse, White, Silver and Black, Firetiger, and Yellow.
Hint: Be nice to our resident Caretaker and he’ll point you in the
right direction to catch fish.
